Itinerary

Your adventure begins as you arrive in Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. Known as the "Scotland of the East," Shillong is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, colonial architecture, and vibrant culture. Upon arrival, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in.

After a brief rest, embark on a city tour of Shillong. Visit the iconic Ward's Lake, a serene man-made lake surrounded by lush gardens, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Next, head to the Shillong Peak, the highest point in the city, offering panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Don't forget to capture the breathtaking scenery with your camera.

Continue your exploration with a visit to the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures, a museum that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Northeastern states. End your day with a visit to the Police Bazaar, a bustling market where you can shop for local handicrafts, souvenirs, and indulge in delicious local cuisine.

After breakfast, depart for Cherrapunji, famously known as one of the wettest places on earth. En route, stop at the Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint for a stunning view of the verdant valleys and cascading waterfalls.

Upon reaching Cherrapunji, visit the Nohkalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall in India, surrounded by lush greenery and offering a spectacular sight. Next, explore the Seven Sisters Falls, a cluster of seven waterfalls that create a mesmerizing visual as they cascade down the cliffs.

In the afternoon, embark on a trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge in the village of Nongriat. This unique natural wonder, created by the Khasi tribe using the roots of rubber trees, is a testament to the ingenuity of the local people. The trek is moderately challenging but rewards you with breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment.

Return to Cherrapunji for an overnight stay, where you can relax and soak in the tranquility of this beautiful region.

After breakfast, depart for Mawlynnong, a small village that has earned the title of "The Cleanest Village in Asia." En route, visit the Mawsmai Cave, a fascinating limestone cave with impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations. The cave is well-lit and offers an adventurous experience as you navigate through its narrow passages.

Upon reaching Mawlynnong, take a leisurely walk through the village, known for its immaculate cleanliness and well-maintained gardens. Visit the Sky View Point, a bamboo tower that offers a bird's-eye view of the village and the surrounding landscapes, including the plains of Bangladesh.

Next, explore the Living Root Bridge in Riwai Village, a shorter and easier trek compared to the one in Nongriat. This bridge is another example of the Khasi tribe's traditional engineering skills and is surrounded by lush greenery.

Spend the evening interacting with the friendly locals and learning about their way of life. Overnight stay in Mawlynnong.

After breakfast, depart for Shillong, but not before making a few stops to explore some hidden gems along the way. Visit the Dawki River, known for its crystal-clear waters that offer a surreal boating experience. The river forms the border between India and Bangladesh, and the view of the riverbed through the transparent water is truly mesmerizing.

Next, head to the Umngot River, another pristine water body where you can enjoy a peaceful boat ride surrounded by lush greenery. The river is also a popular spot for angling and picnics.

Continue your journey to Shillong, and upon arrival, visit the Elephant Falls, a multi-tiered waterfall named after an elephant-shaped rock near its base. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery and offer a refreshing retreat.

End your day with a visit to the Laitlum Canyons, a hidden gem that offers breathtaking views of the deep gorges and rolling hills. The serene ambiance and panoramic vistas make it a perfect spot for photography and relaxation.

Return to Shillong for an overnight stay.

On your final day in Meghalaya, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and take some time to explore any remaining attractions in Shillong. Visit the Lady Hydari Park, a beautiful park with a mini zoo and a variety of flora. Alternatively, you can explore the Shillong Golf Course, one of the oldest and most scenic golf courses in India.
