Our journey will begin in the morning from Dibrugarh, as we make our way towards Tezu. Tezu, the headquarters of Lohit district, is a scenic town nestled on the banks of the Lohit River, surrounded by verdant hills and lush green forests. Overnight stay at Tezu.
Embark on a fascinating journey towards Walong at the crack of dawn, around 6 o'clock in the morning. Walong is the eastern town of where the first sun rays fall in India. Walong is Home of Mishmi tribe. As you drive along the picturesque Lohit River, the stunning valley view will leave you awestruck. After a day-long drive, you will reach Walong by late afternoon. Enroute stop at Walong War Memorial, commemorate the brave soldiers who lost their lives during the Indo-China War of 1962. Upon arrival, proceed towards Dong, which is 8 km away, and check-in to a cozy homestay or resort. We will sleep early today to go for a trek at mid night to see the first sunrise in India.
We will begin our Dong trek early in the morning at around 2 am, covering a distance of 8 km from your homestay or resort to the top of the hill. After reaching the valley, we will wait for the sunrise and relish the stunning beauty of the towering hills and valley. Later, we will return to our homestay and take some rest. Afterward, we will explore the mesmerizing beauty of Walong and its nearby areas.Next, we will proceed towards Kaho, which is the first village of India located near the Indo-China border. During the journey, we will take a halt at Kibithu and enjoy the spectacular landscape. We also visit the Kaho gompa, that overlooks the stunning Lohit River and the ridges on the Chinese territory. In the afternoon, we will return to our homestay in Walong and visit the nearby hot springs for a relaxing and detoxifying experience for our skin. The Dong trek and the Walong excursion are among the most exhilarating experiences in the Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh, making it a perfect location for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers.
After enjoying breakfast in the morning, it's time to start our journey to Namsai. The route will take us through the scenic countryside, where you can admire the lush greenery and quaint villages. Enroute we stop at Hindu pilgrimage site Parshuram Kund. It is a significant spot devotees and is believed to be the site where Lord Parshuram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, performed penance to wash away his sins after slaying his own mother.
Early morning after breakfast go for a day tour in Namsai. One of the main attractions of Namsai is the stunning Golden Peace Pagoda, which houses the world's largest Buddha statue. This magnificent temple is adorned with numerous grand Buddha statues and offers a serene atmosphere for visitors to relax and meditate. After that visit the Namsai monastery and return back to Dibrugarh for a comfortable overnight stay.
After enjoying breakfast, we will take you to the airport or station for your onward journey. We will end the tour with an amazing memory of Northeast India.
